Your portrait
Someone said to me recently that photography is the modern day realism. I’d like to know enough to agree or disagree on that subject. However when we view painted portraits from the past it seems clear that there was considerable value in having a portrait made of you. The wealthy would travel and pay large sums to have their likeness made by a famous portraitist such as John Singer Sargent. What moment in your life would you choose to have framed and placed on your wall?
Real steam
Just can’t resist
Although I am concentrating on portraits I am compelled to photograph flowers, places, objects large and small. I now have a quite large collection of photographs which for simplicity’s sake are not on display publicly on the site. If you are interested in being able to view these, email me at simon@lensnorth.com and I will share a password to the hidden world of lensnorth! one hundred faces
If one person’s portrait can speak volumes about them, can one hundred portraits on one topic give us a library? With encouragement from others I have set off to make portraits of Preston Faces with the aim of printing and displaying publicly.
